Parker Vint is a student from Edmond, Oklahoma, and is stewardship personified. Vint spent his educational career exploring his interests and finding a passion for aiding people through their growth and development.
“I want to work in a capacity where I can help people."
Vint got engaged on May 4th of 2025. He will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing and a minor in Digital Marketing for Non-Business Majors. Vint has always felt connected to OU because of his family. Growing up, he went to football games with his father and got excited about the soft serve cones at the concession stand. As he grew older, Vint began to understand OU’s culture and found himself enjoying it. His grandfather was an adjunct psychology professor, and Vint recalls visiting the campus and going to his office.
Vint will end his college career serving OU Esports and Co-Curricular Innovation as the News Lead. Before this high-level leadership position, Vint has been with the organization since 2022. He started as a Call of Dutyshoutcaster.

“This was before we had the clinicset up, so I did a lot of livestreams from my old apartment,” Vint said. “I had my microphone and my camera, and I didn’t even have a microphone; it was my headset. [These streams] set the groundwork really nicely for what we were going to continue to do.”
Through this role, he learned how to produce the matches, how to do play-by-play and color commentary, and how to observe for Call of Duty. Vint worked alongside Connor Lemon, who currently teaches and is an esports coach at MacArthur High School. Lemon helped him elevate his skills and learn about creating a personal brand. Vint also expressed gratitude for Jody Farmer, the first Call of Duty coach at OU esports, for being a source of inspiration and encouragement because she was dedicated to making people feel heard and comfortable.
“I owe pretty much everything to the people that came before me.”
He credits these people for why he was able to later become the Production Team Lead under Sam Graziano. Through this role, Vint was able to teach people how to be on the air. He realized through this experience that teaching people was his calling. Once he transitioned to the News Team lead, he felt confident in the culture and expectations he helped establish.
Vint is grateful for this time to work so closely with gaming. As someone with a passion for creative writing, as a child, he didn’t realize that the stories present in games were the same kind of stories he was reading. As an adult, he appreciates any game that attempts a story beyond just gameplay.
“There are too many stories in gaming that are just undervalued.”
Growing up, he can recall his V.Smile system and playing Leapfrog and educational games. His family got a Wii, and some of his fondest memories are playing LEGO games with his mom. Throughout the years, his hobbies expanded to include playing tabletop games. This later gave him the idea to found the studio Maps and Morons.
“Maps and Morons is just a, like a little, just creative studio that wants to create more opportunities for fun [with] tabletop games through writing, like adventures, and settings for any [TTRPG] game system,” Vint said.
Maps and Morons have been to several conventions, such as GalaxyCon, Soonercon, and MiracleCon. Vint plans to publish a novella under his studio as supporting material. The novella is titled Slake the Throne. It’s a dark fantasy about a butcher’s son who returns with a ragtag group of mercenaries years after a mysterious blight destroys his home. Vint hopes to use the world for a new TTRPG.

Vint has left a lasting impact on OU Esports and Co-Curricular Innovation. He has supported so many people during his time at OU and will continue to be a resource for others as he graduates.
