Hello everyone, and welcome to the Crimson Collective Journal!
The Crimson Collective Journal, or CCJ, is a collaborative effort from OU Esports & Co-Curricular Innovation to develop a news outlet that is more focused on content that isn’t strictly esports-related. While the original Sooner Esports website will host articles and prerecorded content pertaining specifically to ECCI, the Journal will house content like game reviews, op-eds, hardware reviews, and more.
In 2018, Sooner Esports was founded, and its website was made with the intent to cover all news, program updates, and cultural topics within gaming and esports.
Over time, it was realized that combining casual and hardcore gaming energy tended to be polarizing. To provide a better voice for a dynamic population, the CCJ has been created to cover casual gaming topics. Sooner Esports will continue to host esports-related content.
This news outlet has been created thanks to the efforts of Mike Aguilar, the News & Media team, and the Marketing team in OU ECCI, which helped with graphic design. This site has been in the works for nearly a year, and it is going to be the future of Creative Content.
Content coming this year will include video game reviews, the annual Gaming Club Game of the Year awards, new hardware spotlights, and much more. There will be avenues for both journalism and prerecorded content from the News and Media sides of Creative Content, respectively.
Please stay tuned for further developments as the Crimson Collective Journal launches!
