Drake Kojnik is a journalist for Media & News of OU Esports. He is graduating this year with a degree in Information Science and Technology. During his time here, he decided he wanted to be a part of OU Esports. He considered his options and decided to settle on News & Media. He felt it was a natural fit for him.
“Writing is something I’ve just done all my life, through school, if not through school, sometimes just personal, for fun.”
Kojnik made due with the laptop he had throughout college. He talked about how because of it, he could not experience the higher end, AAA titles, and played games that were smaller in scale. Some examples being Slay the Princess and Anthology of the Killer.
He comments about his time being a part of the News & Media team and how it was a good environment to socialize with others and to work with peers. He is appreciative of the experience he has gotten from interacting with the team. “That’s definitely a benefit of the team, is something I am appreciative of. Been able to work together with a real team of peers.”
As of now, Drake does not have a set path after graduation. He hopes to find a job, taking what he learned from college, and see where that will take him. “I am just trying to stay open, hope something comes through and just put in what I learned.”
Kojink is glad to see what OU Esports has become during his time here back from when it was just Cross B Storm Shelter to the venue we have now. He is glad to have witnessed the program develop throughout the years.
“It’s a pretty big thing, it was cool to see grow in real time. And I hope it continues to grow when I’m gone.”
