Jack Lederman is a student with several passions and the courage to explore different interests. He serves the News and Media team within OU Esports and Co-Curricular and will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a minor in History.

Initially, he found the club because of his leisurely pursuit of gaming.

“As a kid, my dad bought me aGameboy, Super Mario Bros. 3, and a bunch of thePokemon games,” said Lederman. “I just have a lot of fond memories playingNintendogames with my [family].”

When beginning his career at OU, he majored in Computer Science. After re-evaluating what fascinated him and what future career would bring him the most fulfillment (including a possible job in business), he knew what steps to take.

“I want to be a writer,” said Lederman.

Lederman knew the path he wanted and pursued OU Esports and Co-Curricular because he was confident he could be a good steward within the program. He saw similar values he held within the group.

“I really appreciate the community aspects of the Gaming Club. I think the focus on community outreach, like the volunteer program at the children’s hospital and other community events, is helping cement the gaming club as a legitimate institution on campus.”

One of the projects he’s most proud of is his article about the partnership with the Children’s Hospital. Lederman enjoys interacting with the community around him, which is why he is also quite fond of his time interviewing the League of Legends team because he was able to talk to a diverse group of people.

Jack Lederman is planning on moving back to Houston. He has gotten a job at ScreenRant as a Gaming News Writer. He will write five articles a week for the company. He plans to look for a job as an investigative reporter as that is his dream career.

“I really like finding a story and going around interviewing people and finding records. Kind of like a detective.”
